Charities Information Bureau
The C.I.B. offers detailed computerised searches for sources of funding for
local organisations which do not have access to a professional fundraiser. We
can make a search either through the post or by personal visit to our offices
where you can talk through your specific fundraising queries with our advisor,
and we can also help with applications for funding. We can also help agencies
that work on behalf of people with special needs by providing lists of potential
funders, thus enabling the agents to make applications on the client's behalf.

Publicity and promotions services
Taunton Deane CVS Publicity department provides a comprehensive publicity
service to voluntary organisations across the area. These include:-

- Photography service (for a small charge)

- Publicity advice / Media contacts / Press releases
- Use of modern display stands and lighting
- Website Design
We
can visit your organisation to discuss your specific requirements.
Directory of Voluntary and Community Groups
This is one of our most commonly-accessed documents held in the library, with
brief descriptions and contact addresses for hundreds of local groups. The
directory costs £10 but is free to affiliated members. To obtain information

CVS Newsletter
We publish an e-mail based E-vine Newsletter which is circulated to statutory,
voluntary and community groups.

CVS registered as an umbrella body for C.R.B.
C.V.S. is now an umbrella body for C.R.B. applications of disclosure for both paid
and volunteer staff. Application forms and information can be obtained from
the bureau and appointments with the co-ordinator are available on Tuesday
afternoons between 1.30 and 4 pm and Thursday mornings between 10 am and 12.30.
